Click here 9th Nov 2012: We're pleased to announce that our 2013 chosen charity will be Midlands Air Ambulance. 10% of entry fees will go to help them continue their great work across the region. 15th July 2012: Congratulations to everyone who took part in the duathlon yesterday and a big thank you to all the marshals and SARA. Some great racing! Full results are now here. Next year's date is Saturday 13th July - entries open 1st January. We hope to see you then! 14th July 2012: There has been excessive rain overnight in Shropshire which means the River Severn is sadly now rising again rapidly and expected to rise by another 1-2m by this afternoon. It is bringing new debris and run off from fields upstream. Therefore, the Environment Agency, SARA and Upton Tri+ have agreed that it is unsafe for the swim to go ahead. The race is now a duathlon. Competitors will run their swim distance and should still proceed to their original swim start for their original wave time. Competitors will be started in 5 second intervals in race number order. We know many of you will be as disappointed as us that the race is now a duathlon. Those who were here last night will have seen that the river was looking good and PBs likely! Sadly the weather and its impact is out of our control. HOWEVER, the rain has now stopped, and we hope those taking part will have a great race and we look forward to partying the night away tonight! 12th July 2012: SARA, the water safety team, have conducted a full assessment of the river this evening. The level has fallen considerably and the strong currents and amount of debris have eased. Unless the river conditions worsen again, we and SARA are happy that it is safe to continue with the swim. A year for PBs! For those new to open water swimming or still worried about the condition of the river, please be reassured that we have an expert safety team on the water on Saturday and that under no circumstances would we allow the swim to continue if it was felt to put competitors in danger. There are also NEW DIRECTIONS to the parking & camping. All triathlon traffic will come down Ryalls Court Lane (WR8 0PF) and follow farm tracks across the field to the car park/ campsite. Look for the signs on A4104. Ryalls Court Lane is the lane the run goes down. Full details on the changes, including a map, are here: We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! 8th July 2012: In spite of more rain over the weekend, the triathlon is still on. However, most of Fish Meadow is waterlogged so we are moving the car parking, registration marquee, party and camping to a few fields along (same field as 1,500m swim start). The course itself remains unchanged, including the location of the transition, but you will now need to walk your bike etc about 1,500m along the river bank to transition once registered and then walk back to the swim start. Please check the website/ your email before leaving for further updates. 6th July 2012: The River Severn is high and running very fast following the recent rain. However, the river conditions change quickly. We will review the state of the river on Thursday evening and email all competitors on Friday 13th with an update. If the river is not safe to swim in, the race will become a duathlon. If you have registered for a refund but haven't received it by 1st July and your name is still on the 2012 Entries list, it is because we have been unable to fill your place. The whole of the reserve list has been contacted. 16th June 2012: Just 4 weeks until the 6th Upton Tri+! Limited party tickets left so book now if you want to take part in this 4th discipline. 28th Mar 2012: Due to such high demand for transfer places we've changed the process to make it fairer. SARA will receive 10% of entry fees to help them continue to provide land and water based Search and Rescue services locally.
