Upton Tri+ Safeguarding & Welfare Policy

  • Upton Tri+ acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard & promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Upton Tri+ is also committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance & complies with best practice & British Triathlon requirements

We would like to ask everyone to help us ensure that people attending our event are kept safe and their welfare is prioritised.  It is important that people act if there are concerns about potential abuse. Doing nothing is not an option. All concerns must be taken seriously. During the event please can we therefore ask you to:

  • Take all concerns seriously.

  • Listen carefully if someone tells you something that causes you concern and report it immediately to the Safeguarding Officer – Lucy Bett 07834 408 498.

  • If you see/hear anything yourself which causes you concern, report it immediately.

  • Where possible you should record any detail you can.

  • If someone reports a missing person to you please contact the Safeguarding Officer immediately who will instigate our process to help find the person
